I couldn't find a book club in Maple Ridge so I thought I'd start my own. I have a bookshelf full of half read books and thought maybe if I had a little motivation, I could get those books read. If you are like me and like to read, and to discuss literature and to just sit around and drink coffee, I believe this group is for you. We read a variety of genres, always trying something new.

A meeting in New Westminster every second Wednesday from 7-10 PM effective Sept 5, 2012 with stories ready for critiquing by a valiant band of fellow, aspiring scribes. The mission is to get us writers out of our chairs (or into our chairs, rather) and put pen to paper. And moreover, to get our work primed and ready for publication. Plenty of great writers knew each other from their own writers' groups (Ginsberg, Kerouac and Burroughs anyone?) and there is a reason why they became great. Because …

What is Story Lab? Story Lab is like an incubator for creative self expression when it comes to presenting to groups. People love when you tell stories rather than talk in concepts. Stories unlock understanding at deep levels, arouse emotional interest, entertain and motivate people to action in ways concepts never can. But, stories can be tricky to find, craft and deliver---so this event was designed to help you skill build over time. Who is Story Lab for? business owners wanting to present t …

We’re a small writing group made up of commercial fiction writers working on novels for publication (either traditional or indie.) Our goal is to help each other progress towards publication through constructive critique, sharing of information and experience, and building a strong network. We can only fit a group of 5-6 novelists, each of whom submits a chapter (5000 words or less) each week to the group for feedback, critique, and support. We're structured this way because we think the it's th …

This group is for 20 & 30 something women interested in participating in a monthly book club and some social outings. Chatting about fiction over cocktails downtown or potluck gatherings at home! I'm hoping to keep the group small to create a fun, close-knit group of girlfriends.
Join the IndigoReads Book Club at Chapters Robson! Every month we’ll select a different book and we invite you to read it and meet with us on the first Thursday of the month to discuss it. We look forward to making new friends who share our passion for reading and enjoying an evening of stimulating conversation.
