We tend to read character-led Fantasy novels for grown-ups at the more literate end of Fantasy spectrum. Anything from Adams to Zelazny that helps us become 'Well Read in Fantasy'. Please bear in mind that we don't just read just High Fantasy. Our books are usually from the 60's onwards and could include anything fr …

The Science Fiction Book Club meets in central London on the second and fourth Mondays of the month and is open to both men & women who enjoy discussing the themes and issues found in Science Fiction Novels. This is NOT a Book Club for blokes who work in IT to get overexcited about Lasers & Aliens. Seriously. It's not. It's a Book club to read & discuss character-led SF novels for grown-ups at the more literate end of Science Fiction spectrum. We read anything from Atwood to Zelazny that hel …
We're a group for London's creative writers to read their work and get constructive feedback in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. At our meetings we have six reading spaces per meeting. Taking a reading means you'll read your work for 10-15 minutes and then given critique/discussion from around the table. It sounds a lot scarier than it is, trust me! Most members are either working on short stories or a first novel but we welcome any creative writer seeking advice and encouragement. We end each ev …

… We may be reading the latest bestseller but not simply because it’s being promoted endlessly, included on all the suggested lists, or we feel we 'ought' to read it! We read a book a month and also try to plan at least one social event to get to know each other even better such as a movie, dinner, shopping, hiking… in the Summer a book discussion can take place over a wonderful picnic in the park or on the beach… whatever you want… you’re free to suggest a meeting as this is YOUR group!

We recently moved to Maidenhead and I miss my old book group. Ironically now I have a longer commute I have more time to actually read! If you would like to join an evening book group which would encourage you to read something you might otherwise not have picked up, but which isn't too high-brow, then please get in touch. I am female, middle aged (ahem) with a young family but obviously you don't have to be the same, it just gives you an idea !
Let's eat and drink at great venues, meet new friends who live nearby and enrich our minds at the same time! This group has a local focus and is designed for people living in the vicinity of Hampton Court/Teddington. We'll read one book a month and then meet up at a regular time to discuss it. We'll meet at an interesting, new local restaurant, pub or café, or at people's homes if they're willing to make it festive with a few snacks and drinks! Book selection will rotate among the members, and …
… Also, we are an equal opportunity group and don't discriminate against those who are into dystopic lit, so if you fancy reading some books about the decline of society or the subsequent rebuilding of it while having a drink and a laugh then feel free to come along.

So, here we are filling a possible gap in the market. If you enjoy reading while the planets going down the pan, want to share your unoriginal half -baked thoughts with other entities who are equally inept in original expression, then this is the group for you. Okay....enough of the cynicism. We meet monthly and …

I created this group for all Jane Austen enthusiasts, who are interested in attending events related to this author happening in and around London with like-minded people. There will be various meetups more loosely based on Jane Austen, the Regency era, British Art of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, dependi …
This is a London-based book club for everyone that wants to meet monthly to discuss a 'short' book over a drink. Whether it's because you're too busy or too lazy (like me) to read a novel, appreciate shorter books, or want to supplement your current book club, everyone is welcome. The aim is to meet once a month at a pub on a weekday evening to discuss the month's book whilst meeting new people and having a laugh in the process. If you're on Facebook, why not join our group: http://www.faceboo …
