We are a small, diverse group of readers from all walks of life who meet once a month to discuss books that claim to, or have the capacity to, completely change the way we view the world; books that contain ideas that can provoke a significant paradigm shift. We seek to be “wowed” by novel ideas, critical theories, and challenging perspectives that compel us to see ourselves and the world we live in differently. We want to blow-our-minds and we challenge the libraries of the world to challenge u …
A book, some coffee and great conversations. Hooked on Books is for everyone who feels a connection to Books and Reading. This is a book club for folks that love to talk about the book--and are ready to disagree and laugh in the process. From mystery, biography, essays and novels, any kind of book is up for grabs--just as long as it brings new ideas to the table. Being willing to talk about social issues, history, food and character development are required.
Hi! My name is Janet Lynne Roots. I'm a British novelist, editor and writer's coach, and I firmly believe everybody has at least one good story to tell. There's just one difference between writers who get published and those who don't: the published ones learned their craft. Writing a novel is more than filling several hundred pages with words.
