… Some activities we hope to plan out for the 2011 year: General Reading and Discussion Each meet-up, we will take turns to read a passage from Moss Roberts' translation of Romance of the Three Kingdoms and discuss some topics, themes, and plots. This is a great opportunity to practice your reading, learn about Three Kingdoms (if you're new), and immerse yourself in the fun of this novel. Each meet-up, we will take turns with a different moderator to lead group discussions during that event. On …
If you're looking at this group then you know that the Star Wars story isn't limited to just movies and TV. There's a huge amount of Star Wars novels out there, and more coming out on a regular basis. This is a group for people that love these stories and want to get together and discuss them, or are interested in getting into the Star Wars Expanded Universe. I plan on having meetups for new releases and also stuff that's already out there, and think it'd be awesome to decide together what to re …

This group is for anyone who loves reading books that involve vampires, werewolves, fairies, witches and anything that goes bump in the night but is extremely sexy while doing so. This is an adventure book club where parents and kids can come together to have fun and play games, all centered around reading and literacy. This is not your ordinary book club. Have you ever thought about making the book that you are reading come to life? We parents help create exciting adventures for our children. The kids get to use their imaginations and creativity at every event. I love to read and I believe that it is an essential part of life. Reading can take you away to another world a …
Meet new friends and share your love of reading and books. Each month the group will select a book to read for the next month's meeting at the shop.
I am carrying this group over from New York, where up to 6 people submit up to 3000 words to the attending members and we each have an opportunity to discuss each submission.
Do you like comics and graphic novels? Or do you like to read, but find that the idea of reading a graphic novel elicits a reaction of "Hmmm, not sure about this comics stuff…"? in either case, you might find interest in this group -- I'd like to establish and keep a tone that has appeal to both the novice and the already established comics fan. For that reason I plan to avoid superhero comics, or most anything that has an already established mythology and/or backstory (though I'll state at this …
After belonging to other reading groups with much younger members I have come to realize that my life experiences and theirs are vastly different. Being separated by several generations means you will have a very different take on the books you read. That would be fine if the younger people were open-minded enough to consider that I may know what I'm talking about when discussing housewives from the 50's. After all, my mother was one of them. But they did not do that. They simply fed me the part …

I'm looking to put together a small book-chat group (under ten people) of ladies like me who love to read romance novels, and who would like to get out of the house now and again to talk to other adults! We'll meet at various East Cobb restaurants every other Friday at 11 AM, hang out, and discuss a selected romance novel. We can also dish about other things we're reading, watching, and obsessing over. In time, I hope the group develops into a supportive and fun network of friends. If this sound …
After enjoying joining several meet up groups ourselves, we decided to throw some of our favorite things in the blender and mix them all up. We love local music, and having a few drinks with friends, as well as reading. Now that being said we like to read things a little off the radar, like sci-fi, graphic novels..etc. So if you love going out around Atlanta and having good conversation, over a good beer, and checking out the talanted group of local muscians we have here, then look no further we …
